PRAISE FOR HATERS
“Now, if you hear the phrase ‘Young Ones”, you won’t just think of the livewire ’80s British sitcom; you’ll also think about the latest heater from Haters, a full throttle anthem about lost innocence and the passage of time.”
- Rolling Stone
“ENERGY! and so much of it.”
- Max Quinn, triple J
“Haters are your classic nightmare band next-door playing rowdy, paint-peeling alt-rock.”

After a thrilling 2023 that included a Canadian tour and saw them light up stages at NXNE and BIGSOUND, QLD indie-punk/garage trio Haters return with their explosive new single ‘Wander // Wonder’.
Written by singer Jai Sparks just before starting the band, ‘Wander // Wonder’ is an unfiltered story of survival and the desperate struggle of trying to reclaim one’s life. Through chaotic, pounding rhythms and brutally raw storytelling, the song teeters on the edge of sanity, channelling an intense sound that is equally cathartic and confrontational.
“In hospital, it felt like I’d been put on mute and had my colours and brightness turned down in order to save me. And I felt like my life and my body was waiting for me outside in the non-hospital world,” reflects Jai. “During those first few weeks back in home care, I found that someone else had taken up home inside of my head. That person was the sick person and the other “me” was stuck outside.”
Recorded and produced in Ontario, Canada with Scott Middleton (founder of iconic punk outfit Cancer Bats), ‘Wander // Wonder’ channels the sonic intensity of bands like IDLES and Fontaines D.C and draws from real life experiences designed to resonate with those who are struggling . Haters’ raging blend of garage-rock and indie infused punk boldly tackles topics that most would shy away from, offering a powerful voice for the underdogs of the world.
Over the past year, Haters have opened the pages of a deeply personal diary, remaining unwavering in their commitment to sharing their honest and unconventional experiences. This approach to storytelling is already resonating with fans across the globe, sparking a community of listeners who are unafraid to dig deeper and confront their inner demons alongside the band.
